Born in Quito, Ecuador, 25 year old J BOLIVAR cut his teeth as a producer and DJ in Philadelphia before heading to Denver.  J BOLIVAR's productions/sets are reflective of his multi-cultural upbringing, ebbing and flowing through various underground club sounds & BPMs. J BOLIVAR spins and produces high energy hybrids of Latin Bass, Breaks, and Electro, as well as Minimal house/techno and even ambient — all with heartfelt melodic elements.

Over the past few months, J BOLIVAR has made notable appearances at The Marble Bar & Spot Lite in Detroit, Club Vinyl in Denver (w/ Danny Daze), Newtown Radio in Brooklyn (w/ Jamie Jar), the Underground Music Festival, A sold-out NYE headliner at Quite Right Records, 1010 Workshop (w/ Baalti & Surusinghe), Subcentral Boston, and beyond. On the production side, he has forthcoming releases with Fullbodydurag, Entrañas, Sinistarr, Dastardly Kids, Young Muscle, Shai FM, Ene Ese, Zunfo, and more. Under “DOSIS”, his collaborative project with Denver producer MIRLO, J BOLIVAR has recently released music on Denver’s Plush Recordings — home to artists such as Doctor Jeep, Tim Reaper, Samurai Breaks, and Sinistarr — as well as Bogotá/Berlin-based RUTA, alongside Entrañas, Shai FM, and Insomniast.

J BOLIVAR is also the Creative Director of Hoppers Music - a nationwide party series which co-booked the Woodlands Festival, hosted the Save The Aztlan Festival, and whose recent collaborative show with Sojourn Boston featuring Walrus (Basic Moves) received RA pick.
