J BOLIVAR
J BOLIVAR
Born in Quito, Ecuador, 24 year old J BOLIVAR cut his teeth as a producer and DJ in Philadelphia before heading to Denver. J Bolivar amalgamates different club sounds, creating sets that ebb and flow through different genres and BPMs. J BOLIVAR spins and produces Latin Bass, Percussive Techno, Electro, Breaks, and Minimal — all with heartfelt melodic elements.
Recently, J BOLIVAR has played at the Underground Music Festival, Larimer Lounge, Beacon, Mockingbird, Milk Bar, Subcentral Boston, ACR + more. He has worked/spun with the likes of Sinistarr, Entrañas, Coffintexts, Baalti, Billy Bevevino, Cruzloma (Zunfo, Ene Ese), Haus Catz + many more. J BOLIVAR is the Creative Director of Hoppers Music - a nationwide party series which hosted the Save The Aztlan Festival, and whose recent collaborative show with Sojourn Boston featuring Walrus (Basic Moves) received RA pick.
J BOLIVAR is also one half of DOSIS, a collaborative project with MIRLO that brings together an eclectic fusion of club genres — combining Breaks, Latin Club, and Speed Garage with the emotional depth of traditional Ecuadorian “corta venas” songs. Together, they create a high-energy experience that bridges cultures, blurs boundaries, and keeps the dance floor alive. The duo delivers both a dynamic live performance for stages — featuring a hardware performance from J BOLIVAR and vocals from MIRLO — as well as DJ sets built for underground club nights. Their first single, “Heavyweight” releases this fall under Sinistarr & Shoebox’ record label PLUSH Recordings (Doctor Jeep, Tim Reaper, Samurai Breaks), accompanied by a premiere on Data Transmission Radio and the label’s first ever music video.
